Join MassBio's Edie Stringfellow for a monthly conversation on equity, diversity, inclusion, and engagement, or as we like to call it, EDIE!

For this month's Make Shift Happen, attendees will have the change to view the documentary, Picture a Scientist, which chronicles the groundswell of researchers who are writing a new chapter for women scientists. Biologist Nancy Hopkins, chemist Raychelle Burks, and geologist Jane Willenbring lead viewers on a journey deep into their own experiences in the sciences, ranging from brutal harassment to years of subtle slights. Along the way, from cramped laboratories to spectacular field stations, we encounter scientific luminaries - including social scientists, neuroscientists, and psychologists - who provide new perspectives on how to make science itself more diverse, equitable, and open to all.

Attendees will have from January 14th through January 20th to watch the film, and then we will come together on the 21st to discuss its implications and hear directly from scientist Jane Willenbring, who will be joined by Edie Stringfellow of MassBio.

Webinar link will be emailed to participants the Friday before - you can also access it from the "Live Stream" tab below.

MassBio makes every effort to accommodate our entire community at each of our events. Please let us know at least 3 days in advance of the event if you require special accommodations, such as captioning.
