In today’s culture of “More! Better! Faster!” employees are dealing with stress in increasing amounts. Now faced with the COVID-19 pandemic with many unknowns, these pressures are substantially increased. As such, issues of behavioral health (mental health, substance use, and toxic stress) are more prevalent in today’s workforce. Everyday life issues, such as caring for a loved one, grieving a loss, family or relationship struggles, or financial stress can all escalate to affect a person’s overall mental well-being. This is only further compounded by the stigma associated with behavioral health issues and asking for help in those times of need. This panel will discuss the impact of behavioral health challenges in the workplace, what resources and programs are available to employees, how to build awareness and comfort, and how employers can support their employees and their family members in need. We'll hear examples of tools and resources that both small and large companies have in place and where technology is playing a role.
