MassBioEd Life Sciences Workforce 2019
This annual conference brings hiring managers and human resource professionals from the industry together with faculty from colleges and universities who are directly involved with developing programs to educate our next generation of innovators. This year’s program will feature roundtable discussions on how immigration law affects the region’s life science community; specific technical competencies sought after in the fields of bioinformatics and biomanufacturing; the professional skills so essential to career success; and more. Education Director, Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute
John Doyle has served as the Education Director at Gloucester Biotechnology Academy since June of 2015. Prior to working at the Academy, John spent eight years teaching and coaching at public high schools in New Jersey and Massachusetts. In addition, John taught classes in the Department of Marine Sciences and the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Connecticut, as well as the Department of Physics and Earth Sciences at Framingham State University. He is passionate about designing curricula that foster experiential learning, encourage a sense of curiosity, and teach students to use science to effectively communicate and solve problems. John holds a B.S. in Biology with a minor in English from Saint Peter’s University, an MS in Molecular Biology from Montclair State University, and a PhD in Oceanography from the University of Connecticut.
