Global Technical Operations Leader
A biopharmaceutical executive, Charlene Banard leads global, multi-functional teams to bring innovative, transformational biopharmaceutical solutions to patients. She Drives innovative strategies for effective, efficient and compliant integration of people, processes and systems across the enterprise to execute successful initiatives. Her experience encompasses clinical development, product design through product launch and life cycle management with a variety of technology platforms including devices, complex recombinant and plasma derived protein therapeutics, cell and gene therapies, and small molecules. Since joining Shire in 2011 (acquired by Takeda in 2019), Charlene has held senior executive positions overseeing global quality. Prior, she held senior leadership roles at Gilead Sciences, Cell Genesys and Chiron Corporation. She is a member of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association, Healthcare & Life Sciences affinity group in The Boston Club, and is a 2018 Fellow of the International Women’ Forum. Charlene holds an MBA degree with honors from Saint Mary’s College of California; and BS in Biochemistry, from UC Davis.
