Did you know that since the onset of COVID-19 at the end of March of this year the FDA has approved over 18 novel drugs, six of which were for biotech companies based in Massachusetts or with facilities in the Bay State? How are companies taking on the extraordinary challenges and obstacles of launching (or choosing not to launch) new drugs in the time of COVID-19? How are they educating and communicating with the audiences and stakeholders that are impacted?

This panel will be moderated by Business Insider Pharma Industry Reporter Andrew Dunn and will include executives from Bristol Myers Squibb and Sanofi exploring the approaches their companies have taken when it comes to launching newly approved drugs and how they’ve balanced all the competing needs and demands involved.

Vice President and US Business Unit Head of Immunology, Bristol-Myers Squibb
Tina Deignan is the Vice President and U.S. Business Unit Head of Immunology at Bristol Myers Squibb and is responsible for leading the U.S. business for the BMS Immunology portfolio. Tina has over a 20-year career in the pharmaceutical industry. Her over 13-year career at BMS began in the immunology/transplant space, then she spent several years rising the ranks of the Oncology Business in both U.S. and Worldwide strategy and commercial roles, before coming back to Immunology to lead the U.S. business at a pivotal time of growth, both due to the merger with Celgene earlier this year and the robust immunology pipeline in place. She has an unconventional background for a commercial leader, as she is an immunologist by training with a Ph.D. in Immunology from Trinity College Dublin and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from National University of Ireland, Galway, providing a unique perspective among a more traditional marketing organization.
