Join us on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2021, when WIB-Greater Montreal and WIB-Greater Boston will present a joint event with BIOQuébec and MassBio.

BIOQuébec is committed to supporting Québec’s biotechnology and life sciences industry. MassBio’s mission is to advance Massachusetts’ leadership in the life sciences and each is dedicated to improving healthcare and quality of life. Join the discussion of the landscape in Quebec and Massachusetts and biotech leaders’ perspectives on challenges/obstacles faced, leadership styles, where do we want to be, and how do we get there.

The event will be facilitated by journalist-columnist Tasha Kheiriddin with panelists from Québec: Anie Perrault, executive director BIOQuébec, Clarissa Desjardins, founder and former CEO, Clementia (now Ipsen), and Nadine Beauger, President & CEO, IRICOR and from Massachusetts: Kendalle Burin O’Connell, President & COO MassBio, Ramani Varanasi- President & CEO of X-Biotix Therapeutics, and Liang Schweizer- CEO & CSO of HiFiBiO Therapeutics.

Ms. Anie Perrault graduated from the University of Ottawa with a law degree in 1992 and she practised at Phillips & Vineberg (now Davies, Ward, Phillips & Vineberg) from 1992 to1995, mainly in civil and commercial litigation and labour law. She has more than 25 years of professional experience in both the public and private sectors. Her career focused on communications and public affairs in relation to genomics research and biotechnology and she held many strategic national-level positions in this field. From 2001 to 2006, she was Vice-President at Genome Canada. She is currently the Executive Director of BioQuébec. Ms. Perrault is also a member (judge) of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal where she hears cases and renders judgements on cases related to discrimination, applying the Canadian Human Rights Act. She also acts as a mediator for the Tribunal and is an accredited member of the Institute de mediation et d'arbitrage du Québec (IMAQ). In 2013, Ms. Perrault became a "Certified Corporate Director" (CCD) at the Université Laval's Collège des administrateurs de sociétés. Ms. Perrault is Chair of the Board at Genome Québec and a member boards of directors’ Loto-Québec and the Fondation Jeanne-Mance. She was elected to the municipal council of the municipality of Bromont in 2009, a position she held for more than five years, and as Vice-President of the Réseau des élues municipales de la Montérégie-Est, which aims to encourage women in municipal politics. Perrault brings solid knowledge of the political and media environment, having acted as consultant to several federal elected officials over the course of her career (1989 – 2000), among them, the Right Honourable Joe Clark, former Prime Minister of Canada from 1998 to 2000.
